Dreams Of Christmas Day

How bright the night becomes as the stars gather

Children living within their dreams of Christmas

Many moonlight shadows across the rooftops above

Between the towering mountains peacefully alone

Even the cat senses the spirit of Christmas near

At the end of their bed holding the covers down

A certain love that shares their hopes and cares

Beyond Christmas stories bringing legends to bare

Lancelot takes control by the fire where it's warm

The children gathered around, clinging to every word

Snuggled together while their father turns the page

As the wind blows the windows fade from the cold

Through the frost etched panes, the children stare

The stars sparkle like twinkle lights on the tree

Filled with excitement that Christmas time brings

Can you imagine Santa flying through the heaven's

Guided by his Reindeer with his elves holding on tight

Who knows maybe Rudolph's nose needs another bulb

To travel the universe bringing Christmas smiles to all

Yes indeed Santa Clause, you have many miles to travel

With no time to waste, millions of children to please

As sleeping elves snuggled under blankets of warmth

The moon's shadows glisten, against the snowy night

Constantly the cold wind blows, frosting Santa's beard

Echos from afar, is it Santa's voice calling out

Distance miles around the globe where love glows

Bathing their hearts in spirit of Christmas cheer

As the silence of their minds are tucked away

Waiting for Santa to share their Christmas Day

Could it be a warm robe for mom for when she sews

Keeping the chill of winter at arms length

A chair for dad to ease the pain of a working day

To lean back by the fire keeping his heart aglow

While Lancelot, the cat, shares his lap once again

With his paws tucked in, as if he worked all day

Building blocks for Tommy with designs in his heart

With his vision of a city, staying with Santa Clause

Their stockings are hung ready for Santa Clause to fill

The earthquake that followed made the fireplace breathe

Suddenly the rooftop creaked, as the chimney trembled

He appeared suddenly, the chimney was clean

Santa Clause new it was dusted all the way down

Not wanting to get stuck while making his rounds

The children left short notes with cookies and milk

Written especially for eyes of only Santa Clause

Hidden away on another page, dreaming somewhat

Traveling memories of their world face to face

While the morning to come will share their faith

Smiles and laughter with designs in their hearts

Santa Clause knows the blessings love becomes

Only crumbs was left from the cookies and milk

Christmas gifts and things left under the tree

Quickly Santa Clause flew up the chimney with ease

Merry Christmas to all as he drifted out of sight

Only the stars waved goodby, while the Angels sang

Be safe Santa Clause, as our prayers are with you.
